Sebasteion Reliefs - Sevgi Gönül Hall opened at May,31,2008

Geyre Foundation managed to open Sebasteion Reliefs – Sevgi Gönül Hall on the 22th anniversary of the foundation’s establishment and thus made a contribution to the historical heritage of our country with the help of friends of Aphrodisias, the late Sevgi Erdoğan Gönül being the foremost.

Sebastion reliefs and their stories are on display in this hall, which was actualized with an understanding of historical heritage, in accordance with the project of architect Cengiz Bektaş. Reliefs which were excavated in 10-20 pieces were restored by experts and they are now being exhibited for the appreciation of the visitors.

Restoration work was also realized with the contributions of Geyre Foundation.
In addition to the contributions which were actualized until now, Geyre Foundation also supports the Anastylosis project of Sebasteion Temple (archeological reassembly of ruined monument) and the temple is going to be partly reconstructed by the end of the year 2010.
